Romeo And Juliet Choices Paragraph:?

During this play their are a lot of big decisions people have to make, but I’m here to talk about one and one only, the decision Romeo had to make when he was told about a party at Capulet’s mansion. At this party we are told that Romeo and Juliet fall in love at first sight, but what if Romeo decided not to go to the party, would they have ever even met, would they ever fall in love, without this scene the story would it kind of delete the whole point of the story. This is where we are going to look at these questions I have pointed out, and see what the story might looked like instead of what it looks like now.

Let’s look at some examples. First of all, what about Rosaline? If Romeo never met Juliet then would he still be in love with Rosaline? As the story states, before Romeo and Juliet meet, Romeo is in love with another girl called Rosaline but she didn’t love him back. You never know, if the two love birds hadn’t met then would Romeo eventually win Rosaline’s heart and marry her instead? Another thing that may have happened is that Juliet may have been forced to marry Paris, which Juliet hated the idea of. In the story Juliet says “Marriage I wish of not,” which in modern language would translate to “I don’t wish to get married,” of course she changes her mind when she marries Romeo instead. Another thing that could happen is that Romeo and Juliet meet some other way, then the story would be saved.

If Romeo and Juliet never meet what is the story? Would it become Romeo and Rosaline? Or Paris and Juliet? Either way, it would still feel wrong. If the story went any other way, all of the history and all of the sayings would just vanish. This is because everyone knows it the way it is and not only would the story change, but everyone’s opinions would change along with it. If Romeo didn’t go to that party then so many things we know today would be different. They may be little things but they are still things that we know and use in our lives. The expression “Love at first sight” might not be a thing anymore. People might not think about it that often but it’s true! If Romeo never simply walked into that mansion, what would the purpose of the story be?

I guess what i’m trying to say out of all of this is that, one choice in a story can mean so much more than we think. And this particular choice was probably the most important choice in the play. If Romeo hadn’t met Juliet then what would the story even be? I can tell you that, it would not be a good story. this scene is really important to this play because it is when the two love birds meet, and there is no way we could know what would happen if they didn’t, but for now the story we have is great and we wan’t to keep it that way. Over all, without this scene the story would have no meaning.
